Zeolite is a naturally occurring mineral that is found in oceans, volcanic ash, and in the earth’s crust, commonly occurring with clay minerals and in sedimentary rocks. Zeolite possesses a unique crystalline structure and negative charge that absorbs pollutants, heavy metals, and other toxic substances. When ingested, zeolite binds to toxic substances and release them as gases or small, particulate matter. The combination of honeycomb structure and net negative charge allows zeolite to both absorb liquids and other elements based on the strength of chemical bond.
